What Matters During a Vehicle First Look

The details we inspect during dealership walkarounds before a full road test.

A first look cannot replace a road test, but it can still reveal whether a vehicle is thoughtfully designed.

Cabin and controls

We inspect seating position, visibility, storage, screen placement, physical controls, material quality, entry and exit, rear-seat room, and cargo access.

Utility

For trucks and equipment, we examine towing information, bed or cargo layout, tie-downs, hitch access, service points, and ease of use.

Buyer value

We compare the trim, equipment, visible quality, and asking price so readers know what deserves closer attention before spending money.
